TWO PERSPECTIVES ↔ ONE SHARED ADVENTURE

We Were Here Tomorrow Guide: Getting Started Together

Quick answer

Describe what you can see, repeat your partner’s instructions, and change one thing at a time. Each Explorer has different information and equipment, so a missing clue is often on the other player’s side.

Quick answer

We Were Here Tomorrow is a two-player asymmetric puzzle adventure. You do not need to finish the earlier games first. You do need to work from two separate perspectives.

Before you begin

Have both players launch their own copy on a supported device, connect online and test their microphones. Use the cross-play setup if you are playing on different platforms. There is no split-screen mode.

A useful way to share clues

  1. Name the place. Say the checkpoint, room or fixed landmark before describing a detail.
  2. Describe before interpreting. “A striped circle with an outer frame” is more useful than “the third symbol.”
  3. Repeat the instruction. The acting player repeats the symbol, direction or cabinet number before pressing anything.
  4. Change one thing. Report what moved, lit up or opened before trying the next action.

Use landmarks both players can identify. In gravity-shifting rooms, your left and your partner’s left may point in different directions.

When a puzzle stops making sense

Check for a missing item, an unheld lever, a clue visible only to your partner, or a machine that has not registered its previous step. Look for a visible response: a changed pointer, charged battery, open passage or matching symbol.

If a character cannot move, an item disappears or a known loading fault prevents play, switch to the relevant troubleshooting guide. A locked door with freely moving players may still be a puzzle.

Reloading a checkpoint

For a soft lock, return to the main menu, select change → start new journey, and let the host choose the nearest checkpoint from your progress. Confirm the intended checkpoint together before starting.
